Blasius said in post-match press conference at Al Nahyan Stadium in front of about six thousand spectators: 'The decision to shoot from outside the box came based on advice from captain Khaled Eisa, as he told me I should shoot, and that out of every three shots I might score a goal.' The player expressed his happiness at scoring the winning goal, adding: 'I am very happy that I could help the team. I gave what was needed, which is achieving victory. We got three important points, and the match was beautiful.' It is worth noting that Blasius's goal raised Al Ain's tally to 50 points at the top of the standings, one point ahead of nearest competitors Al Ahli, while Al Wahda's tally froze at 34 points in fourth place.
